For Myanmar, there is no patent filing procedure. In practice, patents can be enforceable in Court by filing a Declaration of Ownership for Patent at the office of the Sub-register of Deeds and Assurances in Yangon and then followed by a Cautionary Notice in the local newspaper(s). Such registered Patent Declaration of Ownership is considered as “registration” which gives a relevant evidence of use if action has to be taken in the courts of law regarding ownership. The cost for Cautionary Notice depends on the size of space required and type of newspaper selected for publishing.
